loom /\ sixteen poems

loom: to come into view. to dominate or overhang; ominous. to weave. or, an apparatus for weaving. loom is a collection of sixteen poems by greta ruth melcher. each chapbook is hand-stamped on repurposed and recycled papers. the poems run chronologically from winter to spring, sketching moments and moods of the near and the far, of the everyday threads of life and thought that hang like dark rung clouds above us. with a focus on the feminine and the depth behind the perceived shallowness of simple acts and objects, loom paints a scene of growth through stillness and patience. below are two poems from the chapbook.

greta will be reading selections from loom at three books three poets on august 18 at boneshaker books at 6pm in seward minneapoils alongside other tsii made poets. chapbooks will be available for purchase at the event. any remaining copies of loom will be available in the shop
